Tracking starts on your iPhone
Shots, meals, water, weight, measurements, check-ins and workouts are stored on your iPhone in iOS-protected storage. Your private profile may include your birth date, height, medication, goals and preferences. Optional entries can include notes, cycle logs, progress photos and recorded workout routes.
You can use a local profile without creating a cloud account. Notifications and reminders use the permissions you choose on your device.
An optional account and cloud backup
If you create an account with Sign in with Apple or email, we process the account information needed to sign you in and restore your journey. Your tracking backup and profile are stored on Amazon Web Services in the United States (Oregon, us-west-2), with encryption in transit and at rest.
Private photos and reports that you upload are stored separately from your tracking backup. Amazon SES delivers account verification and sign-in emails.
Apple Health and workout permissions
We read Apple Health data only with your permission to display your activity and wellness information in the app. Workouts are written to Apple Health only when you choose. Apple Health information is never sold or used for advertising.
Outdoor workout routes use location permission. Workout weather uses Apple Weather services for the workout location. You can change Health, location, camera, photo and notification permissions in your device settings.
Bestie Snap and requested estimates
When you use Bestie Snap, your meal photo is sent to our server and processed by models on Amazon Bedrock to return a nutrition estimate. The photo is processed in memory and is not stored or logged by our meal-estimation service. The resulting nutrition estimate is temporarily retained with a 24-hour expiry so a repeated request can return the same result.
Typed food lookups are sent to our server for nutrition estimates. When you request writing assistance, the text and relevant facts you submit are processed through Amazon Bedrock. Operational usage and error information help us run these services; meal photos and their contents are not included in those logs.
The Besties community
If you use Besties, our servers store your community profile, handle, avatar and banner images, posts, replies, follows, reactions, circle participation, blocks and reports. A private account lets you approve followers and limits your non-circle posts to approved followers. Posts you share in circles are visible to other Besties, subject to blocks and moderation.
Community content and reports may be reviewed to enforce our Community Promise. Keep personal contact details out of posts. Information you choose to share with other people may be copied by them.
Payments, support and product signals
Apple handles purchases through the App Store. We receive purchase and subscription information to provide Premium access, but never your payment card details. If you contact support, we use your email and the information you send to help with your request.
Optional product analytics are off by default. In the current app, enabling them writes approved event names and fixed product categories to the local Apple system log; it does not send them to an outside analytics provider. Health values, medication details, names, email, account identifiers, notes, post text and photos are excluded from these product signals.
No ads. No data sales.
We do not sell your personal information, use it for advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites. We use service providers such as AWS and Apple to deliver the features described here.
Cloudflare delivers this website and processes request information needed to serve and protect it, including necessary access and security logs. Website fonts and images are hosted with the site. We do not use analytics trackers, advertising pixels, sign-up forms or nonessential cookies on this site.
Keeping and deleting information
Your local journey stays on your device until you remove it. Your current cloud backup stays with your account. Replaced cloud backup versions are scheduled to expire after 30 days. Uploaded temporary reports are scheduled to expire after 90 days; uploaded progress photos remain until you delete them or your account.
Deleting your account starts a cloud deletion process and removes the local profile after the service accepts the request. Private account records and uploaded files are removed, and community content is removed or de-identified. De-identified moderation evidence and limited records of completed deletion are scheduled to expire after 730 days. Operational logs are configured to expire after 90 days. Service recovery copies expire through their normal retention cycles.
If revoking a Sign in with Apple credential needs another attempt, the minimum encrypted credential is retained for that cleanup. Deletion runs in the background and is not necessarily instantaneous. See how to delete your account.
Your choices and requests
You can edit your profile, change permissions, choose community privacy settings, export your data as a PDF, or delete your account in the app. For access, correction, deletion or other privacy requests, email support@glp1bestie.app. We may need to verify that the account is yours before acting. The privacy rights available to you depend on where you live.
The app is for adults age 18 and older. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us.
